We respect the privacy of our on-line visitors and guests. We also understand your need to appropriately control your personal information and to know when/how such information may be used.

If a visitor is just browsing our website, VistingPortugal.com, or Trip Planning Blog, VisitingPortugal.com/blog, we do not gather any personal information about the visitor whatsoever.

In some cases we also use StatCounter, which is a similar, non-Google service. You can see more about their Privacy Policy on their Legal page.

When DO we collect personal data?

There are three ways which we may collect personal information directly from this website:

  1. E-mail: Our email links and contact forms give you the opportunity to ask questions or provide comments and suggestions;
  2. Enquiries/Equipment Requests: In our booking enquiry form and equipment rental request form, you are asked to provide your name , phone number and/or email address. We use this information to respond to these requests. Your information will not be published anywhere, at any time;
  3. Online Booking: Online booking requires the above information, as well as payment details. When you book online, you will obviously need to enter sensitive data (such as a credit card number). Our credit card processor for online booking, Stripe, is PCI compliant. This means that all credit card details are stored on Stripe’s secure servers.  We, VisitingPortugal, never see your credit card information.  For details on how Stripe collects and uses personal data, please see their Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to use Stripe’s services, it is possible to pay with PayPal, WorldPay or a bank transfer, following an email or phone call.

Your private information will never be given, sold, rented or leased in any manner to any third party without your prior consent, unless otherwise required by law, or except as may be necessary for auditing requirements or as part of regulatory compliance. VisitingPortugal will release otherwise confidential information to law enforcement authorities upon receipt of a relevant search warrant or subpoena, and will respond similarly to a relevant discovery order in any civil litigation setting. VisitingPortugal agrees to protect your personal information in a manner designed to ensure its integrity. As necessary, VistingPortugal will take reasonable steps to erase or rectify inaccurate information.

How do I know what information VisitingPortugal has collected?

In line with European law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are happy to provide you with specific information about any personal data we may have collected about you, following an appropriate request.
